What Is Anxiety?
Anxiety is a powerful emotion with the capacity to affect the body in many ways, manifesting either as emotional symptoms like worry and tension or as physical symptoms such as digestive issues or elevated blood pressure. While everyone may feel anxious from time to time, distinguishing between temporary anxiety and an anxiety disorder is crucial. How Is Anxiety Treated?
Each person who comes to us brings a unique set of experiences and challenges, especially when it comes to anxiety. We understand that our patients might be dealing with various types of anxiety disorders, such as generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), social anxiety disorder, or panic disorder. We acknowledge that there's no universal remedy for anxiety. That's why, in our welcoming and secure environment, we encourage patients to voice their questions, express their concerns, and explore different treatment possibilities. Our objective is to tailor a treatment plan that suits the individual needs of each patient without compromising their values. To achieve this, we provide a range of anxiety treatment options, including transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and ketamine IV therapy. Our dedicated team is committed to supporting every patient on their path to better mental health.
What Are the Symptoms of Anxiety?
Anxiety often stems from a combination of genetics, environmental circumstances, and psychological influences. Traumatic events or substantial life shifts may provoke episodes of anxiety, influenced further by inherited tendencies and neurochemical dynamics in the brain. Typical manifestations of anxiety encompass ongoing worry, a state of restlessness, and physiological reactions such as a heightened pulse, perspiration, and muscular strain. Moreover, affected individuals might struggle with focus, experience irritability, and have issues with their sleep patterns. Quick recognition and intervention in addressing the signs of anxiety are crucial for effective management and therapy.
Anxiety Reviews
Tolulope's experience with TMS therapy has been excellent. She is patient and really kind, even if the initial consultation took some time to schedule.
For years, I've grappled with ADHD and anxiety. Discovering Tolulope was a game-changer. Her tailored approach to medication management is thorough, and her genuine concern for her patients' well-being shines through her patience and care.
Good results from Ketamine therapy but the follow-up process needs work.
TMS treatment helped me become a much happier person and helped me see a more positive outlook on my life, even in my difficult times. The staff has been supportive, uplifting, consistent, attentive and kind. (Shout out to Jadriana, Kevin, Nate, Victoria, May and others!) My mental health has been a struggle for nearly 15 years and this treatment helped me feel more in control of my mental health while also helping me manage the uncontrollable circumstances. I learned to focus on gratitude and how to work through tough circumstances in healthier ways. I’m certain I would not have been able to do before treatment. I will say that patience and commitment is necessary in order to feel the full effects. I was hesitant to begin treatment because of how time consuming it is and because the effects don’t kick in right away. To me this treatment is similar to getting your body in shape. You have to work and dedicate the time. It’s not going to magically fix you either. The process is changing your physical brain operations but in my opinion it also requires your willingness to try different (healthier) coping skills and change the way you approach situations and challenges. I am very grateful I took a chance on this treatment. I also understand that this treatment is not for everyone. For my symptoms, (major depression, nearly constant anxiety, social withdrawal, apathy, etc.) this treatment was definitely helpful in my recovery. I know I will always have to keep my mental health in check throughout my life because of my previous trauma and my profession. This was an important piece to my recovery. Thank you to all of the staff——especially Jadriana and Kevin, whose dedication and kindness uplifted me every session. ALSO THANK YOU FOR THE SNACKS ON GRADUATION DAY
Tolulope's compassionate and professional approach in supporting anxiety and PTSD is truly remarkable. A shining example in the field of psychiatry!!!!

Frequently Asked Questions
Are generalized anxiety disorder and general anxiety the same thing?
General anxiety and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) are not interchangeable terms. General anxiety typically occurs in response to specific stressors and is something many people experience. On the other hand, generalized anxiety disorder involves persistent and excessive worry about routine life events, often without a clear cause, and can significantly impair daily functioning.
What can I do if my partner has anxiety?
When your partner is dealing with anxiety, it's important to approach the situation with empathy and patience. Recognize that anxiety is not something that can be switched off at will. To support your partner effectively, offer the following support:
- Reassure them that they will be okay
- Stay calm and patient
- Don't make them feel guilty
- Ask them how you can help them in the moment
Does anxiety run in families?
There is evidence to suggest a genetic component to anxiety, which can be more prevalent in individuals who have family members with generalized anxiety disorder. While genetics may influence the likelihood of developing anxiety disorders, the exact mechanism of inheritance is not fully understood.
