How Is Depression Treated?
Depression manifests in various forms, including postpartum depression, clinical depression, and treatment-resistant depression. A critical initial step in managing depression involves determining the specific type affecting an individual. Common approaches to treatment include talk therapy and medication, which prove beneficial for many. However, our team acknowledges the individuality of each patient, understanding that a method effective for one might not suit another. Beyond traditional treatments, we offer options like TMS therapy and ketamine IV therapy. We are committed to attentively hearing our patients' experiences and concerns to tailor a depression treatment plan that aligns with their unique needs and wellness objectives.

Depression Reviews
Tolulope's experience with TMS therapy has been excellent. She is patient and really kind, even if the initial consultation took some time to schedule.
For years, I've grappled with ADHD and anxiety. Discovering Tolulope was a game-changer. Her tailored approach to medication management is thorough, and her genuine concern for her patients' well-being shines through her patience and care.
Good results from Ketamine therapy but the follow-up process needs work.
TMS treatment helped me become a much happier person and helped me see a more positive outlook on my life, even in my difficult times. The staff has been supportive, uplifting, consistent, attentive and kind. (Shout out to Jadriana, Kevin, Nate, Victoria, May and others!) My mental health has been a struggle for nearly 15 years and this treatment helped me feel more in control of my mental health while also helping me manage the uncontrollable circumstances. I learned to focus on gratitude and how to work through tough circumstances in healthier ways. I’m certain I would not have been able to do before treatment. I will say that patience and commitment is necessary in order to feel the full effects. I was hesitant to begin treatment because of how time consuming it is and because the effects don’t kick in right away. To me this treatment is similar to getting your body in shape. You have to work and dedicate the time. It’s not going to magically fix you either. The process is changing your physical brain operations but in my opinion it also requires your willingness to try different (healthier) coping skills and change the way you approach situations and challenges. I am very grateful I took a chance on this treatment. I also understand that this treatment is not for everyone. For my symptoms, (major depression, nearly constant anxiety, social withdrawal, apathy, etc.) this treatment was definitely helpful in my recovery. I know I will always have to keep my mental health in check throughout my life because of my previous trauma and my profession. This was an important piece to my recovery. Thank you to all of the staff——especially Jadriana and Kevin, whose dedication and kindness uplifted me every session. ALSO THANK YOU FOR THE SNACKS ON GRADUATION DAY
Tolulope's compassionate and professional approach in supporting anxiety and PTSD is truly remarkable. A shining example in the field of psychiatry!!!!

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between sadness and depression?
Feeling sad from time to time is a normal part of the human experience. However, depression goes beyond occasional sadness. It involves persistent or severe sadness accompanied by various other symptoms, such as a diminished interest in activities once enjoyed, feelings of hopelessness, low self-esteem, excessive guilt, reduced energy, trouble concentrating, changes in appetite, altered sleep patterns, physical pains like headaches and body aches, and potentially, suicidal thoughts.
Can children get depression?
Yes, children can indeed suffer from depression. Although it's often seen as a condition affecting primarily adults, depression does not discriminate by age and can impact children too. In children, the signs of depression might differ from those in adults and can include irritability, changes in eating and sleeping habits, persistent sadness, withdrawal from friends and activities they once enjoyed, and a decrease in energy. It's crucial for parents, caregivers, and educators to recognize these symptoms and seek appropriate medical guidance to address them.
What are the risks of leaving depression untreated?
Untreated depression can lead to serious complications, including deteriorating physical health, decreased ability to function at work or in social settings, substance abuse, and an increased risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviors. These consequences underscore the importance of recognizing and treating depression early to prevent long-term psychosocial and health issues.
